A change in direction

Today I had an epiphany. I live in a small town, and I have a hard time finding all the great deals posted by the bigger city thrifty blogs. I do what I can and still end up finding some great freebies and deals here in town. So I hav decided to change directions of this blog, and make it geared towards my area! I have run into some ladies in my town that would like to know how I get the deals that I do, so I am doing this for them. So here is a list of the stores that will be my main focus: CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Ingles, Kroger, Food City, Food Lion, Big Lots, and Walmart. If there are any other main store you would like to see, just let me know!!! I will also be doing reviews on local restraunts, stores, consignment stores, and products. So check back!

More Info

I know there is SO much information out there on how to save money. Everyday there is a new deal. I can't post every single one. I will try my darndest though, to bring to everyone the ones that I find to be the most important and the most helpful. I will also give examples of how I am saving money, to make it easier for those just starting out. Because I don't have a lot of time to sit down and make elaborate plans for trips to the store, or make a trip just for one small item with a toddler in tow.
So here are some examples on how I try to make thrifty life a little easier.
  1. Build a coupon binder. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3byETfcMXc
  2. Never go to the store hungry
  3. make a list and stick to it
  4. make a meal plan for the week, and stick to it (We need to do this more)
  5. do a quick search of the web before you go out to see if there are any promos or coupons out that you may be able to use.
  6. NEVER PAY FULL PRICE!!!!!!!

I hope these ideas help keep those wallets fuller. Keep checking back for more money saving tips!!

-Jenny

P.S- next post will be my CVS trip where I will spend $0 and get back $14 in ExtraCare Bucks!!!

Welcome!

Since I have been running my fingers all over the internet for months looking for the best deals, I have decided to make a blog myself. To lay out the easiest ways to save money. I for one, have a toddler, so it's not easy to have these elaborate grocery or CVS trips with 8-10 transactions. I need to go in, and get out as quick as possible but still spend as little as possible. I'm not going for the number of followers, but if there are people out there that feel the same way, then great! Give me ideas on what you want to see!
